What Counts Toward Limits

Conversations

Each conversation counts once regardless of:

  • Number of messages exchanged
  • Conversation duration
  • Channel type (voice, SMS, chat, email)

A conversation is created when:

  • A phone call is answered
  • First SMS message is sent/received
  • Chat widget opens and first message is sent
  • Email thread is created

Voice Minutes

Voice minutes are measured from:

  • Call start (started_at) to call end (ended_at)
  • Includes all time: active conversation, hold time, transfers, pauses

Unlimited Channels

SMS, Chat, and Email are unlimited, meaning:

  • No per-message charges
  • No monthly message limits
  • Subject to fair use policies
  • No throttling under normal usage

Upgrading and Downgrading

  • Lower limits apply at start of new period
  • No refunds for unused time
